How to Set Up 2 Factor Authentication in Office 365
1. Go to https://outlook.office365.com and log into your account.
2. You will receive the following prompt:
3. Click “Set it up now”.
4. You will have multiple options for the contact method. Choose either “Authentication Phone” or “Mobile App”. Enter the requested information.
A. Authentication Phone: Put in your phone number, select the Text or Call option (your preference), and click “Next”. Enter the verification code.
Note: MFA can only be used with the default Apple Mail app if you are on iOS 11 or higher. If you are not on iOS 11, you need to download the Outlook app from the App Store.
B. Mobile App (Optional: requires completing the setup of your authentication phone):
Note: You will need to download either Microsoft Authenticator (recommended) or Google Authenticator from the iOS App Store/Android Play Store.
b. Select "Authenticator App" and click "Configure".
c. Scan the QR code that comes up, enter the code on your phone, and click "Next".
d. Click "Save".
5. You're done!
